“When faced with a challenge, get smarter”- Ed Catmull.

These were the words that the founder of Noor Games started his speech, and this was exactly what we tried to do during GCON Armenia 2023, to get smarter!

Let’s dive into the details of the conference! 

As many of you might already know, GCON Armenia has become a tradition for the Armenian game development industry. In 2020, we surveyed Facebook AGDA (Armenian Game Developers’ Association) group and realized that the community lacked a game development conference. So, alongside GGJ Armenia, the Noor team also started to organize GCON Armenia. Since then it has been organized every year, and even the pandemic could not interfere, as during those two years, the conferences were conducted online.

This year, on January 28, 2023, Noor Games organized GCON Armenia 2023, and this time our co-host was CocaCola Happiness Factory. After two years of having GCON Armenia conference online, it was refreshing to see our old and new friends and colleagues, and you could see that the community needed this event in an offline format.

We’ve had more than 180 participants,  and 9 great speakers from the gaming industry both Armenian and international. That’s right! This year our speakers were not only Armenians, and so were our participants! 

The speeches were very different, touching upon a wide range of topics from technical, to psychology, data science, and of course AI.

By the way, we also haven’t forgotten about our youtube community, and those who weren’t able to participate in the event in person can watch the whole conference on YouTube.

In a word, the event was a success, and we want to thank our co-host CocaCola Happiness Factory for providing the space and great food for our participants, our speakers for sharing their time and their knowledge with us, and of course to our community, since none of this would matter if you wouldn’t crave for knowledge, and try to get better in your profession!
